Hi! I’m Shannon and I’ve been running K9 Satsifaction for over 11 years. I have a passion for dogs and love to bring them to their best potential. Puppy raising, training and play is a passionate hobby that has become my source of income. Exercise and activity trips are a healthy way to keep any dog in a more balanced state of mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also work with many “issue” dogs helping their owners understand their particular dog, problem solve their approach and create solid replacement behaviors for the dog to resort to. I balance my approach with healthy exercise\/activities, continued training, text support for the owners and visits. I love to help people find a better balance with their particular dog!<\/p>\n\n\n

\r\n\tMeet Bruno the 1 year Bernadoodle! I have been super happy to start working with this guy this last week. He has a very likable personality, very fun, energetic, sensitive, social and full of pride.

He started some training because he has been struggling with some adrenalized barking, fight or flight reflex on greeting, jumping, anxiety in the car, repeated barking, reactivity and pulling.

He has made huge strides in a very short amount of time. The daycare he was going to may not have been helping with his adrenalized responses. He can be pretty sensative and feed off the other dogs at daycare. Everyone barking rattles his nerves. Getting pets for jumping up at daycare and then being told not to jump at home is confusing to him, so what is the proper way to greet people?

I’m happy to say he has been extremely responsive to my training methods. I give lots of pets and attention when on all four paws and remove it when he jumps up. This is my first response especially if a dog is confused, adrenalized or getting scared easily. A dog going through puberty may need a correction, but for Bruno he mostly just needed consistency. Being around other dogs who adrenalize and bark is also not good for his nerves.

We worked on calm behavior in the car, going to lay down. No whining or pacing.

We started work on leash manners by your side to help ease his nerves around distractions so can have a more enjoyable walk with less barking.

The calm atmosphere at my house has been fantastic for him. Being around a bunch of dogs that don’t bark over everything has been great for his mentality and nerves. Happy to keep seeing this guy as his family learns how to navigate keeping his emotional regulation. Having the same rules in the home and out of the home is super beneficial!!

*Side note* I do take in some reactive cases as long as they are puppy and kid safe. Bruno has been really well socialized so plays really well with all the dogs here, including tiny puppy! I am not currently taking in any aggression cases unless they are a super small dog or have predictable\/avoidable triggers that we can work through.
